twas the night before christmas..

Så ble det lille julaften og for en gangs skyld så var det ingen av oss som stresset rundt med noe, så vi har bare kost oss og fått pynta i huset i dag:)

Now the night before christmas eve is here, and this year we all had gotten everything we had to do, done beforehand..mostly:) So we have just had a good time and decorated the house:)

Her er jeg og moderen sin nisse som hun fikk da hun var to år. Hun var kjemperedd for den, derfor satt den alltid i juletreet slik at hun ikke skulle komme for nær og rive ned hele stasen:)

Me and the "nisse" my mum got when she was two years old. It always sits in the tree, because she was terrified of it, and would not go near the tree when it was sitting there:)

I dag var det Ivars tur til å lage middag, og da ble det chilli..sterk og god chilli:)

Today it was Ivar`s turn to make dinner, and that means chilli..strong but delicious chilli:)

I dag bestemte min far menyen, og han ville begynne julen litt tidlig med ribbemiddag:) Vi bruker tradisjonelt ha det andre juledag, men det har ofte vært problemer siden vi ofte skal ut på fest den dagen, så i år kom ribben tidlig:)

Today my dad decided the menue, an he wanted a traditionl norwegian christmas-dish, a kind of spare-ribs, done the traditional norwegian way:) We usually have this dinner on boxing.day, but often we "kids" have parties to attend that day, so this year the ribs came early:)

Jeg og moderen heiv oss rundt og bakte vannkringler i dag. Moderen trillet ut, jeg kokte og stekte:)
Today, my mum and I made "waterpretzels":) I have no idea what to call them in english:) But they are very good, and we only have them for christmas. My mum rolled them out, and I boiled them, to make them rise, and then they went in the oven.

I år ble det en enkel variant av pepperkakehus..et ferdig byggesett som bare trengte å limes sammen og pyntes:)

This year it ended with an simple and easy variation on the traditional gingerbreadhouse. A store-bought building kit that only required assembly and decorating:)
